The word museum would generally put you off unless you are a history enthusiast but the difference with the Museum of Tropical Queensland is that it is nothing like any other regular Museum even though the name says so. You can find numerous activities for children which allows them to educate themselves about nature, barrier reefs, marine life and the tropical world as the whole and there are some very interactive and interesting exhibits for adults which will keep you interested in the displays, the details and the whole museum from beginning to end. Magnetic Island is a must-visit location when you are in Townsville. It is a small stunning little island located about 20 minutes away from Townsville and from the time you get on the ferry for the trip to the island till you come back to the land you will love the experience. If you wish to relax and just enjoy nature as it was intended to, you can definitely do so on Magnetic Island. If you wish to try your hand at some water sports such as jet-skiing, waterboarding, diving, and snorkelling you can definitely do that as well.
