The word museum would generally put you off unless you are a history enthusiast but the difference with the Museum of Tropical Queensland is that it is nothing like any other regular Museum even though the name says so. It is a small stunning little island located about 20 minutes away from Townsville and from the time you get on the ferry for the trip to the island till you come back to the land you will love the experience. If you wish to relax and just enjoy nature as it was intended to, you can definitely do so on Magnetic Island. If you wish to try your hand at some water sports such as jet-skiing, waterboarding, diving, and snorkelling you can definitely do that as well.
