About Tianjin

Ferris Wheel

The only Ferris wheel that's built on a bridge, Ferris Wheel of Tianjin is also referred to as the Eye of Tianjin. A definite must-visit, Ferris Wheel offers you a 30-minute ride with 360-degree views of the area. A Ferris Wheel ride is an excellent opportunity to take Insta-worthy pictures.

The Bund

A remarkable tribute to the Chinese, English and French architectural styles, the Bund is a large promenade that runs along the Haihe River. You can do some fishing or go swimming in the river. The Bund is known for its European feel, and when you are there, you are bound to forget that you are standing right in the centre of a Chinese city.

The Porcelain House

Housed in an old colonial French building, the Porcelain House is another must-visit. With a history that spans back a hundred years, the Porcelain House was once a villa. Inside the museum is a vast collection of porcelain works. Among the exhibits are ancient porcelain vases, Chinese ceramic ships and a variety of ancient ceramic bowls and plates. The number of porcelain works housed inside the museum is a whopping 400 million. The owner of the house dedicated 20 years of his life to collecting the porcelain works displayed at the museum.

Italian Style Street

Found in Marco Polo Square, Italian Style Street is a tourist resort in Tianjin. Lined with Italian style buildings, this is a site that reflects the diversity that prevailed in China. Italian Style Street runs from Coast region to the Victory Road. Other highlights in the area include Peace Shopping and Pedestrian Street, Tianjin Financial Road, the Ancient Culture Street, Little White CBD and Tianjin Municipal Government. This is a must-visit if you admire the unique styles of architecture.

Garden of Serenity

Home to the last emperor of China, Garden of Serenity is indeed a capsule of serenity. Located in Heping district, the site is under special protection. The garden boasts a variety of historic architectural styles; the site combines the European and Chinese architectural styles.

Tianjin Grand Mosque

This is one of the best-preserved palatial Islamic complex in China. Open to visitors from 9 am to 5 pm, Tianjin Grand Mosque is another must-visit. Located close to the Ancient Cultural Street, the mosque was built in 1644. The complex covers a land area of 5,000 square meters. Tianjin Grand Mosque is a compilation of Chinese architectural styles. Still used by the Muslim community in Tianjin, Tianjin Grand Mosque is another historical building in China that seems to have withstood time.

Nanshi Grocery Street

Fans of Chinese food flock at Nanshi Grocery Street to enjoy the samplings of the local cuisine; this is the largest concentration of restaurants in the city. Constructed in 1984, the street is lined with high grey buildings. Though called a street, it seems like a walled city. In addition to the gastronomical delights offered here, the music fountain found in the middle of the square is another reason to visit the street.
