Essential Cleaning and Hygiene tips to Follow during a Pandemic - Top Hygiene Practices to Follow to Stay Safe in a Pand

Maintaining one's health during a pandemic depends on how well one practices good hygiene. From cleaning as you go to making sure no infection-causing germs interact with one's body requires both planning and forethought. Here are some tips on how to stay clean and safe during this outbreak.

1

Avoid Touching Your Face

One of the ways in which coronavirus can be contracted is by coming into contact with the infection causing germs or bacteria and then touching one's face. Areas such as the mouth, eyes and nose are especially susceptible as these are apertures in the body that allow what's outside in our environment to get inside our bodies. Even if one is wearing gloves when out and about in public it is necessary to refrain from touching the face as the germs on whatever surfaces you touched with the gloves could contain Covid-19 causing particles.

2

Personal Hygiene

Maintaining personal hygiene practices we as humans are supposed to adhere to is another practical way to ensure no disease-causing bacteria enters your body. From bathing and showering regularly to using sanitized or clean utensils to consume food, every day practices such as covering one's mouth and nose when sneezing can go a long way during such tumultuous times as these. Poor personal hygiene not only put one at risk of contracting Coronavirus but also a host of other diseases as the body becomes a breeding ground for all manner of bacteria. While it may seem trivial, brushing one's teeth twice a day, using hand sanitizers before eating and using tissues to touch ATM devices and other machines in public spaces is crucial.

3

Keep Away from Others

Social distancing is one of the pillars of Covid-19 prevention as the disease is unable to penetrate another individual when an infected person maintains a 1m distance from others. This is an important fact to keep in mind when standing in queues, shopping in supermarkets and other public venues and even when approaching officials at public institutions such as banks, post offices and in elevators is essential as one cannot be sure who is infected with the disease.

4

Stay In Whenever Possible

Although the idea of staying home or remaining indoors indefinitely can be panic-inducing, the safest way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 is to limit one's interactions with those who are not living at home. While travellers who are unable to cancel their trips can choose to stay at a hotel in Hong Kong with hygiene measures whether it's the Dorsett Mongkok or any other establishment, others should refrain from venturing too far outside their home base during the pandemic.

5

Wipe down Surfaces

Counters, restaurant booths and seats are areas that come into contact with a large number of people on a daily basis. This is why it is wise to wipe down such surfaces before you sit down or use them in one way or another. Use a 60% alcohol concentrated sanitizer and wet wipes to clean these surfaces and never resort to using a handkerchief or a plain tissue as these will prove to be ineffective.
