Planning on family travel this year? Well, Kuala Lumpur is a good place to start! There are many places that allow kids and adults to enjoy themselves together and here is a list for you to add to your own list of things to do.

Aquaria KLCC

This world-class attraction is situated in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on the concourse level of the building. The aquarium spans across 60,000 square feet and exhibits over 5000 marine species. You will get the chance to see creatures like the Seahorse, Blue-Rays, Sharks, Sea Snakes and colourful coral fish as well. Within the complex are several family activities that include diving with sharks, touching unique species and relaxing on a stimulated boat. You can also shop for souvenirs at Suria KLCC.

Petrosains Discovery Centre

Situated on the fourth floor on the Petronas Towers, there is so much to see and do here. The concept of the museum revolves around petroleum science and is designed and a fashion that makes it easier to navigate. The museum that fills an area of 7000 square metres has been divided into 11 main interactive sections to explore. It is quite the hit with school kids as the museum makes learning more interesting as well. Your kids are sure to love the Petrosains Discovery Centre as well.

Sunway Lagoon

One of the most popular theme parks in KL is Sunway Lagoon which offers families a wonderful time in the water. There is a lovely manmade river along with thrilling water slides for that awesome adrenaline rush. There is also a surf beach with a wave pool and a pirate ship that revolves 360°. There are 5 sections in the park – Scream Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Wildlife Park and Water Park. You also have the chance to directly interact with about 90 species of animals here.

KidZania

This is certainly a paradise for kids! It is a kid-sized city that allows kids to role-play as various professionals to see how they like their jobs. Kids are introduced into the business world, given kiddie cash and expected to take on job roles like surgeons, new anchors, firefighters and pilots. The kids who are at News Straits Times Press are encouraged to roam about the city streets looking for news to put in the paper. Also, they are given the task of delivering papers as well. The place is not far from many a hotel in Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur. It is just a 20-minute taxi ride away from The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel.

Skytrex Adventures

Many thrills await you here but make sure you aren't afraid of heights. This is an adventure where you will need to learn to balance fast as you are going to take in views of the city while on the canopies of the trees here. High up in the branches are platforms for viewing as well. The height requirement for this adventure is 1.1 metres. It is completely safe too!
