Menjangan Island and West Bali National Park

This is one of the most amazing places to visit if you are a nature lover and it is located towards the north of the island. This national park consists of dense forests, swamps, savannahs and coastal areas too. it's pretty much an all in one experience. Many a family-friendly resort in Bali that is situated close by are willing to arrange excursions to the park. The nature reserve is a whopping 19,000 hectares and is famous for the Bali starling or myna. The coral reefs on the coast are perfect for a snorkelling adventure too.

Ubud and Campuhan Ridge

Ubud is all about the mountainside with paddy fields changing colours in the wind and river valleys rich with greenery. The atmosphere is pleasantly cool here and you will find the tranquillity you've been searching for. But in the midst of this calm is also the rapids of Ayung which is ideal for white water rafting if you are up for the challenge. Ubud also offers sightseeing tours and adventure where the nature lover can discover beautiful birds and other wildlife in the thick forests here. Jatiluwih

This place is in the village of Wangaya and was once a candidate for a UNESCO Cultural Site. Jatiluwih is famed for its paddy fields as it is one of the main areas where rice is grown in Bali. Batukaru Mountain makes the perfect backdrop for this scene, therefore, Jatiluwih is one of the most beautiful places to appreciate nature.

Batukaru Temple and mountain

This religious site is located just a few metres away from Jatiluwih and is much adored by the Hindu community of the area. This is a very sacred site for local devotees and has a spring that is believed to be blessed by the gods. Several shrines have been erected here. The roofs of these structures are tiered and there are a number of ancient sculptures as well that are now covered in moss. Nature's presence is very prominent at Batukaru Temple making it the perfect place to explore the environment with a bit of history and culture adding a bit more to your experience.

Tegallalang rice terraces

If you are looking for the perfect Balinese experience, then the rice fields of Tegallalang is what you should be looking for. The paddy fields here are absolutely precise in shape and almost look as though they have been planned out in a way to showcase the natural beauty of the place. Just before the harvest, the fields are a luminescent green with paddy swaying in the breeze. After harvest, the place is golden like a treasure of the earth.
