This place is in the village of Wangaya and was once a candidate for a UNESCO Cultural Site. Jatiluwih is famed for its paddy fields as it is one of the main areas where rice is grown in Bali. Batukaru Mountain makes the perfect backdrop for this scene, therefore, Jatiluwih is one of the most beautiful places to appreciate nature.
This religious site is located just a few metres away from Jatiluwih and is much adored by the Hindu community of the area. This is a very sacred site for local devotees and has a spring that is believed to be blessed by the gods. Several shrines have been erected here. The roofs of these structures are tiered and there are a number of ancient sculptures as well that are now covered in moss. Nature's presence is very prominent at Batukaru Temple making it the perfect place to explore the environment with a bit of history and culture adding a bit more to your experience.
If you are looking for the perfect Balinese experience, then the rice fields of Tegallalang is what you should be looking for. The paddy fields here are absolutely precise in shape and almost look as though they have been planned out in a way to showcase the natural beauty of the place. Just before the harvest, the fields are a luminescent green with paddy swaying in the breeze. After harvest, the place is golden like a treasure of the earth. Sunrises and sunsets here are definitely something you mustn't miss out on.
