This means that I will respect all deadlines, so that I do not hamper my own progress, or those of my fellow bootcamp participants.
I will do this because NOT asking for help will hurt my chances of success, and will be denying myself the full benefit of this program.
Because honesty is a powerful avenue toward lasting change.
This means I will not just do stuff to get it done, but to thoughtfully and wholeheartedly complete my work as only then will I get the most out of the program and only then will I be able to best help my fellow students.
This means that I will always speak to and about others, as I hope they would do for me.
This means that I will take full advantage of this opportunity, and try every option possible before admitting defeat.
This means I will participate in the student forums, and offer my feedback and advice on homework, problems and challenges as appropriate.
I will be vulnerable and real as I share with the group so we can all benefit from each others experiences..
This means I will continue to give help to, and receive help from, bootcamp graduates.
This means that I'll be an active participant in the lessons -- doing the work, yes -- but also making a concerted effort to find really good questions to ask (and help answer, if I can).
Going for it with the anticipation of a powerful result in six weeks for everyone!
I might be challenging, but it can also be an empowering and enlightening experience worth enjoying to it's fullest.
As important as learning is, using what we learn is even more important!
This review will be helpful to the whole Firepole team so that they can better evaluate what worked and what didn't. They'll be able to use them for future promotion of their offers.
That means that if I didn't complete one of them, it will be an exception, not a rule, and I'll double my efforts & contributions to compensate this poor results.
This means that I will not beat myself up for any of my 'failures' -- e.g. for not understanding a lesson or for making a mistake. I will accept it, embrace it, and move forward.
Even though it may be uncomfortable at times, I will force myself out of my normal comfort zone to share ideas, complete assignments and connect with others, in order to make this course a positive experience for all involved.
While we come from very diverse background it's important to use good communication skills and minimize the use of profanity,
This means that I embrace change and all it implies -- including the challenge to my emotional security and comfort (zone) which may be difficult but, ultimately, rewarding and productive
This means I promote the collaborative learning model at Bootcamp and agree to use Bootcamp as an opportunity for co-creative activities and collective advancement rather than individualistic competition. I believe we can achieve more and learn more when we all are doing well throughout these 6 weeks.
We should take it serious but we also should have fun and make it fun! Because only when it's fun we want to come back again and again
I will consider other points of view than my own, and accept that other perspectives have value, whether I agree with them or not. I will try not to react emotionally to negative feedback.
I will remember to make Bootcamp a priority while still functioning in "real life". I'm doing this for my family too!
This means that I will edify those who are struggling, have doubts, insecurities and let them know that everything they need to succeed in this bootcamp is right inside of themselves.
I seek not to compete, compare, condemn or cajole. Everyone has something to learn. Everyone has something to teach.
