Tourist attractions in Middlemount - Moments of happiness in Middlemount

The 'Giant Peanut' in Australia- that's how the locals have nicknamed Middlemount, specifically due to its road layout that's peanut-shaped. Although this town is just 30 years old, today, it has become one of the best destinations for tourists.

1

Blue Mountain Park

Middlemount is indeed great for family holidays, and its Blue Mountain Park is not to be missed at any cost. 'Jewel in the Crown'- is how this attraction is described by the locals, and it's indeed a jewel to be treasured. During your visit to the Blue Mountain Park, you may enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding regions and there are also many animals to be explored. Wallabies are a common sight, and then there are also the other Australian favourite birdies such as galahs, blue mountain parrots, and kookaburras. Blue Mountain Park is also an ideal spot to have a family barbeque session on one fine evening during your tour.

2

Bundoora Dam

Located around 28 km south-west of Middlemount town is the Bundoora Dam which is immensely popular among travellers. This man-made dam is located right next to the German Creek Coal Mine, so yes, it's easily accessible. When the lake is 100% full, it can hold around 10,000 megaliters of water and provides great fishing opportunities for those who come here to fish as the dam is full with many breeds such as eel-tail catfish, sleepy cod, golden perch, red claw crayfish and many more. Those who love water adventures can try water skiing and even boating (some speed limits apply though!). It's also a great spot for swimming.

3

The Peak Range National Park

To anyone holidaying in Middlemount, Moranbah, Dysart, or Clermont, the Peak Range National Park is a must-visit. The entire National Park has four major sections namely the Wolfang Peak, Gemini Mountains, Lord's Table Mountain, and the Eastern Peak. What's very special about this attraction is that it pleases the interests of all travelers. Needless to say, it delights nature lovers, and of course, nature and wildlife photographers. Those who love to explore history, can come here and investigate the Peak Range Volcano that has been here over 30 million years ago.

4
