Rules for Using Co-working Spaces – Getting used to a modern working concept

While some companies can afford to have their building and equipment, some simply cannot do this. This is why the concept of co-working has come into being to make things easier. It's all about sharing workspaces! Check this out for rules of co-working in style.

1

You need to be quiet when working

Yes, you need to be friendly and polite with the people with whom you are sharing the working space, but that doesn't mean you have the right to disturb them whenever you want. When working, everybody needs to concentrate on what they do, and this needs peacefulness from around. Thus, work quietly so that, you are not annoying anyone around you. This will improve your efficiency and that of others as well.

2

You need to clean up everything after using

It's okay to take your laptop, files, and your cup of coffee to your workspace and then engage in your daily working schedules. But, when you are done, make sure you don't keep the empty cup of coffee at the same place! This will be a very unpleasant thing to see when someone comes to the workspace tomorrow- in the morning.

3

You need to stay within your space

Just as how you do when shared community living at a property the likes of lyf by Ascott, you need to stay only within your space when co-working as well. Your space means the spaces you are only paying for. There may be other vacant spaces, but they are not yours. No matter how much of a messy person you are, you need to keep your files and every piece of equipment within your space, and that's a must! Do not try to invade other people's workspaces, because it's not ethical after all.

4

You need to have everything you need

One of the golden rules when co-working is to bring your supplies. You can't be asking for staplers, stapler pins, A4 sheets, pens, and rulers every time from the other persons. That will annoy the others as well. Instead, know what you'll be needing for your work and keep them packed inside a small bag. Yes, there may be instances where you have no option, but to ask something from a co-worker. If you ever come across such an instance, make sure you return it to him as soon as you finish your work.

5

You need to practice good hygiene

Practicing and maintaining a good hygiene level is not only relevant to those who share working spaces, but for everyone alike. But, especially when co-working, you need to practice good hygiene habits. Smell good all the time. Shower yourself before going to work so that no one will feel embarrassed to work with you. Also, be mindful of the perfume or the cologne you use for work. Don' use strong scents for work because that will not be appealing to all. Use a decent and charming smell (rose, jasmine, etc) for work, so that you create no trouble.
