Must-haves for your next Maldives Trip – what you cannot miss having with you!

There is no question as to why the Maldives is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and if you have visited once you are bound to plan another trip to the stunning islands.

1

Sunglasses

It does seem obvious that you need to take your sunglasses with you when you travel to a tropical destination where the sun is shining throughout most months of the year. However, due to the number of people that do forget their sunglasses hotels and resorts are usually equipped with a clothing and accessories store where you can pick up a pair of sunglasses if you forget to pack your own.

2

Sunscreen

The sunny islands will require you to apply sunscreen even if you are planning on getting a tan during your stay. It is best to take several tubs, tubes, or sprays of sunscreen if you are planning to stay for more than three days as you can pack them into each bag that you carry around with you. If you are always carrying a day bag it is a must to pack sunscreen into that bag as you can use it whenever the requirement arises.

Bathing suit

Many of the different hotels and island resorts have boutiques inside the resorts or hotels and you can get your hands on a bathing suit or bikini if you do forget. There are shops in Male as well where you can shop for a range of bathing suits and other products. However, the boutiques at the resorts are pricier than most other shops unless you are shopping with a purpose.

Having a cover-up or a sarong will help you avoid uncomfortable situations where you wish you had more clothing at hand.

5

Day bags

If you are planning on exploring, doing a lot of excursions, or even planning to go island hopping it is a good idea to pack a day bag to take with you. You can pack the essentials mentioned above to take along so you will not be worried about leaving anything behind or needing anything that you did not anticipate that might be needed. Your day bag could also contain a wet bag so when you are done with snorkelling or swimming you can put your wet clothes in the wet bag before putting it in the day bag.

6

Slippers or sandals

Unless you are travelling to the Maldives for an event or a meeting that will require you to wear formal shoes, you will not be wearing shoes a lot of time during your vacation in the stunning magical islands. Most of your time will be spent barefoot or in flip-flops or slippers. Most
