6 Travel, Safety Tips during Covid-19 Pandemic – Traveling in a pandemic

COVID-19, the novel Corona Virus made a direct negative impact on the travel and tourism sector globally, and no one could do anything about it. But people now have learned to live with the virus, and as a result, the travel and tourism sector also have started functioning again.

1

Before you go, check the government travel advisory

What is the destination you want to travel to? Before moving to any planning, check the status of your government travel advisory. Yes, if your destination has been listed as 'safe to travel', you may start your planning since there's no objection. But keep in mind that this 'safe to travel' status can get changed anytime without pre-notice. Also, know what the quarantine rules are that you have to follow upon arrival from your destination.

2

Check if the destination is safe for travelling

It's a global pandemic and everyone in the world is equally challenged by the same. Many countries were closed for tourism for many months, and now they are slowly lifting the travel restrictions imposed. Whatever the destination you intend to travel to, make sure if it welcomes travellers from where you live currently. Also, know what are the terms and conditions of them to accept travellers. To reduce the possible risks, most countries require reports of negative PCR tests presented upon arrival, and you need to be aware of all of them.

3

Be aware of the places you stay in and visit

Where will you stay during your tour? Popular hospitality chains such as Avani Hotels & Resorts have arranged many important measures to ensure the safety of their guests, and you may choose any of their properties for your stays without any hesitation. When you book hotels online, make sure you also ask about the health and safety measures in practice if you need to get any clarification done.

4

Be safe when flying

Even while on the flight, passengers need to wear masks for their safety. Temperature checks are performed before boarding and airports also have arranged various measures to ensure the safety of the individuals. It is wiser if you have a pack of disinfecting wipes for yourself so that you can use them to clean door handles and even the tray tables at the airport.

5

Practice social distancing

You may not be able to maintain social distancing on the flight, but make sure you practice it every time you go to any attraction or any other public place. Maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from people as a safety measure. If you sense as if any place (be it a shop, market, or any attraction) doesn't follow the social distancing rules, move away because no one can simply underestimate this serious virus.

6

Wash your hands at regular breaks

Keep a sanitizer with you all the time and use it at regular breaks. Wash your hands with soap at least for 20 seconds, and make sure you don't touch your face as you used to do before. And do not forget to wear the mask no matter where you go. It's for your protection!
