Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking is a famous short trekking trail of Annapurna region. Ghorepani means “feeding water to a horse” in Nepali language, located at the centre of Himalayas of Nepal with deep rhododendron forests. The place used to be water-feeding point for horses when people rode the horses while travelling from Jomsom to Pokhara in the past. Due to its raw beauty and thespian views of the high mountains, treks bypassing the Annapurna have always been immensely popular and panoramic. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests past icy waterfalls where you can stop and cool yourself. Staying overnight in Marlung the next morning following on the footsteps of the ancient Tibetan traders for centuries to get to the Sherpa Village of Thame is certainly strenuous yet historical. Taking the same route we drop down to Namche conquering one of the most significant and exciting trekking euphoria and keeping that feeling intact we reach Lukla, from where we sweep away to Kathmandu.
