8 Ways to Go Out During the Pandemic and Stay Safe

Well, we've been living with COVID-19 pandemic for so long we have had to adapt to it for our own survival. And no, it doesn't mean that we should go out in the public clinging on to our dear lives. Here's how you can stay safe!

1

Spending time outside safely

During these troubled times, it is important to remain physically active while ensuring the health of both mind and body. If you must venture outdoors there are several things you and your loved ones can do to minimise coronavirus exposure. When planning a picnic, find out the peak times and avoid them as much as possible while taking routes that aren't prone to being congested. Especially if you have kids and old people in your family, go over the precautions they should take outside such as maintaining physical distancing, wearing a face mask at all times, and not touching the face at any cost – don't forget to pour hand sanitiser to your loved ones' hands once in every fifteen minutes or so, to ensure that they are extra safe – you can never be too careful!

2

Dining outside

Feel like dining outside? If you're thinking of going for street food, then go for the safest choice of take-out rather than eating in public. However, you can even eat at a hotel in Hong Kong with hygiene measures properly implemented – however, do not give the responsibility of your well being to the hotel; no matter the precautions taken from the hotel, you may still bring the virus from outside. So, make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water – make sure you do that for at least 20 seconds, after which you shouldn't touch your clothes until you finish dining in Dorsett Mongkok.

3

Spending time with people outside your family

It's fairly understandable that you'd want to meet your friends and relatives that you haven't met in ages; but, how safe it is to meet them during these pandemic-stricken times? You'd have to make this decision on your own based on your own situation. If you have family members with a higher risk of being severely impacted by COVID-19, including older family members or those that have underlying medical conditions, it would be best if you can take every precaution you can to protect them. And if you do socialise with a few close friends, find out whether they practice preventive measures every day before agreeing to meet them – don't forget to have a good shower right after you come back, and if possible, do not place your hand on any furniture or countertops.

4

Using the public toilet

Before leaving the house, remind everyone to use the bathroom to keep away from using public ones as you have no idea how hygienic they might be; however, if you do need to use the public restroom, make sure that you maintain at least one-metre distance from others while wearing a mask – don't forget to wash your hands immediately afterwards.

5

Going swimming

Although there isn't any evidence to prove that COVID-19 can spread through water, it is best to be in on the latest guidelines from your local authorities, if you're considering going swimming with your family.
