Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create “grids” to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a video message where teachers post questions and students answer.
Benefit: It is free and easy to use
Barrier: Many kids don’t like recording themselves

Kahoot is a game based learning platform for both students and teachers. Kahoot is free and easy to use. Using this app or website, teachers can test the student’s knowledge for an upcoming quiz. Teacher’s can add whatever they would like to on this kahoot!
Benefit: It is free and easy to use
Barrier: It may be easy to cheat since students are able use it on their own devices

BrainPOP is an animated educational site for kids that includes social studies, math, science, music, arts, english, health and technology! These cartoonized videos teach kids about any subject that the teacher is trying to get across.
Benefit: It keeps the kids intrigued
Barrier: Videos don’t have built in comprehension checks

BrainPOP is student centered
Google classroom is a free and easy tool to help both educators and students. You can use Google classroom in your school to streamline assignments and boost collaboration with not only students but educators and parents as well. It helps to have communication too.
Benefit: It is free and boosts communication
Barrier: Google classroom doesn’t allow access from multiple domains.

Class dojo builds a classroom that boosts and makes communication between students, parents, and educators much easier. Using this app, you can share photos and videos as well messaging that has more than 30 different languages.
Benefit: It’s reliable and allows communication
Barrier: It’s not aimed at older kids

ClassDojo is both teacher and student centered
Nearpod helps educators create any type of lesson whether it’s at virtual or in the classroom. It also allows for students to be interactive with their teachers. The teachers are able to make presentations that have quizzes, videos, polls and so much more.
Benefit: It is perfect for times like this pandemic
Barrier: It is time consuming and can get expensive

Nearpod is both teacher and student centered
Quizlet makes simple learning tools that encourages you to study. It’s free with premium purchases. It’s not just a site that gives answers, it’s a site that helps you come to the answer. It has flash cards that are perfect for learning.
Benefit: Easy to use
Barrier: You can only use it for so long before they charge

Whiteboard.fi is a simple tool that is easy to use! Educators are able to make classrooms for the students that they are able to join. Everyone receives their very own whiteboard where they can draw, write, and solve problems on!

Google slides is a free presentation maker! It’s perfect for both students and teachers. Much like powerpoint, google slides allows you to put slides of pictures, links, questions, into one video where you can show the class!

Mursion is the best tool to use for both current teachers and potential teachers. This technology tool allows teachers to practice and talk with a fake virtual classroom of students. These students are able to talk, ask and answer questions. They resemble actual students. It is a virtual reality simulation.
Benefit: They prepare you for a classroom
Barrier: There are limited hours for newbies
