List of best beaches in Koh Samui – Some of the most heavenly shores

Koh Samui is one of the larges islands that belong to Thailand and sees many many visitors each year. If you are looking for endless white shores with clear water stretching towards the horizon for miles, this is the place to be. Here are a few beaches to explore.

1

Silver Beach

This is hands down the most gorgeous beach on the island of Koh Samui and is home to the oldest beach resorts on the island as well. The beach is also the smallest on Koh Samui. The main feature of these shores that makes it so attractive is the boulders which nature has so fashionably placed. The waters are very clear and shallow making it ideal for snorkelling. Depending on how the tide is, you will have the chance to see a variety of fish and crustaceans in the waters here.

2

Chaweng Beach

If you are out for some excitement, well, this is the beach for you! The beach is quite crowded due to the fact that it is close to the airport, a Muay Thai Kickboxing stadium and Angthong National Marine Park. However, those visiting this beach are the young and carefree and are here to have a great time. Chaweng Beach is also popular as one of those party beaches. The evenings are as lively as ever with loud music, dancing and large crowds that gather to party hard.

3

Chaweng Noi Beach

Easily accessible from many luxury villas in Koh Samui, this is one of the most beautiful Chaweng Beaches with sand that's whiter than its sister beaches. There is much that this shore offers when it comes to scenic views as well. The sunrise is the highlight here since the beach is located to the east. The water here changes colour into darker shades as it increases in depth and this is absolutely beautiful. The place is much less touristy than other beaches around here.

4

Lamai Beach

This is yet another beautiful beach which offers a world of opportunities but isn't quite as crowded as the Chaweng Beaches. If you are the first-time traveller looking for some peace and quiet away from the crowds, then this is the ideal beach. What draws visitors to Lamai Beach is the fact that it is less developed than the rest of the beaches on Koh Samui. The old-school atmosphere allows visitors to feel at ease. The currents of the ocean water here aren't strong at all making it the best place for a safe swim especially when travelling with children.

5

Ban Tai Beach

Just a 25-minute drive away from resorts like Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, this beach too is stunning as ever. Ban Tai Beach too has its unique features, a wide patch of seagrass and stone and rocks under the water. You might want to wear a pair of water shoes if you plan on swimming here to make sure you don't stub your toe. Located close to the beach are a number of accommodation options as well.
