5 Of the Must Try Street Food in Sukhumvit – the hidden eateries in town

Sukhumvit might not be as big with the street food scene like Chinatown is, nonetheless, this doesn't mean that that place has nothing offer. All you've got to do is look a little harder and there you'll see it! Here are a few places that are well-loved for their dishes.

1

Thong Sai E-Sarn Food

Sukhumvit is one of the places in Bangkok where you will find a shortage of street food. It certainly sounds crazy doesn't it? But you've got malls and best restaurants Sukhumvit but hardly any street food stalls. If you are on the look out for some Isaan food, then are two Isaan stalls next to each other located down Asok's Sukhumvit 18. The service isn't the best, but you can expect some of the best Isaan dishes to be found around here.

2

Bamee Slow

If you want to go simple and are looking for the best egg noodles in town, the queue lining up at Bamee Slow in the evenings is more than enough to tell you what to expect. They serve egg noodles either dry or with broth and of course the star of the dish is the soft-boiled egg that's broken into the dish. Wontons are served as a side dish as well. Bamee Slow is situated at the entrance to Ekkamai Soi 19.

3

Hom Duan

For those of you who want a taste of some northern Thai dishes, your options are not as out of reach as you think they are. Just a 16-minute drive away from hotels like Maitria Hotels & Residences is Hom Duan placed between Ekkamai Soi 2 and 4. It is not your typical street food stall though; this one was an old café and has air conditioning as well. But the local delights are simply scrumptious!

4

Hoy Tod Chaolay

If you are in for a junk food fest where you are not going to care about your healthy diet routine for a minute, then Hoy Tod Chaolay at Sukhumvit 55 will help you with your craving. The ultimate super oily dish to try would be Hoy Tod omelettes made with mussels or oysters and egg. This is crispier and is much tastier than Pad Thai.

5

Tang Meng Noodle

All this food is tasty and all good, but there comes a time when you'll want a simple meal of just chicken and silk rice boiled in chicken broth and served steaming hot. The best place to be is Tang Meng Noodles where they serve up some of the best chicken rice, fried chicken noodles and much more. The eatery is located in Sukhumvit 49 and is open for lunchtime only.

6

Banh Mi Ngo

Serving up some of the best snacks, this place is where you need to be for some great sandwiches. You'll get items with traditional fillings and much more. It is situated at Sukhumvit 101/1.
