There is so much that Guangzhou offers, that travellers may often be confused as to which places to visit and experience in one visit. Read through to find out five places that you will enjoy visiting if this is your first time.

Baiyun Mountain

This is one of the top attractions in Guangzhou and is perfect to explore with the family. There is plenty of flora to observe and appreciate and not to mention the stunning views from the top. This mountain has a few gardens and a bird park for the bird watchers too. A paved path leads to the summit which makes it an easy climb.

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

The is somewhat like an ancient temple and is the place to be if you love art. Within the premises are works of art that come from archaic times. The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall also acts as a museum that tells tales about what life was like in the past in China. It is a must-visit attraction in Guangzhou.

Yuexiu Park

Yet another park, Yuexiu Park is a maze of paved paths to help you explore as much as you want. Furthermore, there are a few structures that look like mini castles, lakes and various uniquely landscaped gardens. Be warned though that the signs are not always right, and you can get lost. But of course, you will eventually find your way back. Also, the stature of the Five Rams is an iconic piece of art that you should not miss out on. This is part of the city's identity, so you won't miss it.

Shamian Island was once controlled by the Europeans and the French and this is quite evident in the surroundings of the island. As they always do, these foreign colonies have left their mark on the island with their colonial-style buildings and road plans. It's like a bit of Europe in China!

Standing tall at 1900 feet, the Canton Tower was once known as the tallest tower in the world. It is a magnificent sight and draws the attention of many photographers.
