Likewise, the country is an ideal destination for foodies.

Note: The Kottu roti is a legendary street food delicacy which one must try when they are in Sri Lanka. One can find served at almost all local restaurants on the island but me mindful to tell the waiter to tone down the spiciness of the dish if you do not eat spicy food

Monsoon seasons in Sri Lanka spans from December to March and June to October but bear in mind that these seasons are nowhere near being harsh as the rainy seasons in Thailand or Vietnam. Also during the monsoon seasons, there will be far fewer tourists in the touristy regions which makes the rainy season an ideal time to visit the island. Also regardless the season, the hilly regions will have occasional rains and they feature pleasantly cold weather all year around.
