How To Improve Concentration Power

Finding it difficult to concentrate at work or while studying? Here are some easy tips you can use to improve your concentration power to ensure you stay vigilant & efficient.

1

Create a distraction free environment

Create a distraction free environment

To increase focus you must find focus first. One of the main culprits is our Mind, it tries to find a way to escape from doing the hard parts of the work. 1 Notification, 1 Email, 1 IM and we immediately leave what we are doing and check out the update. Hence to improve concentration and focus one must build an environment that's distraction-free. Remove the clutter, keep aside your phone (or use the zen mode). Try with a minimal desk set up. This is very important - DO NOT DO THIS FOR EXTENDED TIMES. 30 mins is a good time to start up and then take a breather and then sit again. This will ensure you are at max productivity and not burn out.

2

Eat the Right Food

Do Not Sit For Session Empty Stomach! Always have a bottle of water next to you, basically, reduce the excuses you give yourself to get up from your place. Then there are certain foods that help you improve concentration like coffee, yogurt. Coffee, when taken in the limit, helps your brain stay alert so you can be at max productivity for that specific interval!

If you don't get your daily quota of 8 hours of sleep, you feel drowsy and drowned out. So if you were not able to get your sleep at night, try a power nap for at least 20 mins. This should help you reset your focus and help you start with a fresh mind.

It has been proven that a minimum of 30 mins of exercise can double your concentration levels by double. Other research looking at older adults suggests just a year of moderate aerobic physical activity can help stop or even reverse memory loss that occurs with brain atrophy related to age.

6

Try Meditation

Try Meditation

Studies have proven that mindfulness exercises that focus on concentration and memory help improve memory and cognitive abilities. Meditation doesn't just mean closing your eyes for the time. yoga, deep breathing, mindfulness are varieties you can incorporate to help ease the boredom in your journey to improve concentration.

7

Practice Your Skill

Practice Your Skill

As with everything else, good things come with practice. To improve your cognitive levels and memory you have to keep on trying things and consciously note things that work for you. E.g. you are able to work efficiently when listening to jazz and AC at 24 degrees. This kind of awareness will only come if you keep practicing. For best results, try to do the same thing everyday for same amount of time during the same time everyday!
