Freight forwarding services

Here are some of the services that freight forwarders provide. Learn more here!

Sea freight

Sea freight is the transportation of goods via a sea vessel from one seaport to another. Cargo is often consolidated by a freight forwarder into shipping containers or placed directly onto the vessel.

Air freight

Air freight is the transportation of goods via a plane. Once the goods are loaded up, the crew will control the in-house temperatures during the flight.

Trucking service

Trucking refers to carrying goods from one point to another via a truck. As there is a wide variety of products that can be transported, there will be a range of vehicles available to suit the needs of customers.

Trucking is usually not the sole mode of transport used for transporting goods as it is often used in tandem with other modes such as air freight or sea freight.

Cargo insurance

Cargo insurance is a form of insurance that covers the protection of all risks and losses for a freight during shipping from air, land, sea or rail. Freight forwarders provide cargo insurance to customers, especially those with fragile and perishable goods or goods that are of high value.

Custom clearance

Custom clearance is required to cross borders for international shipments as each country has their own rules and regulations. Freight forwarders will assist customers in preparing the necessary documents and liaise with the relevant agencies.

Storage and warehousing services

Warehousing refers to the storage of goods until the time it is needed. Renting a storage space is a more cost-effective solution for businesses, especially in Singapore where land is limited.

Bonded warehouse

A bonded warehouse is used to store imported goods that have yet to clear customs because of outstanding duties. These goods are not allowed to be delivered until all duty fees are settled.

Chemical warehouse

Chemical warehousing involves the storage of regulated and hazardous chemicals in designated locations. These facilities are typically used by pharmaceutical companies to store chemicals safely.
