Really cool function of the iPad

Pixter is a reasonably simple OCR tool that incorporates the ipad camera.
It works well, but does not preserve formatting.
Stitcher is the best podcast compiler around. You can create categories, sort, etc.
You can also download for offline listening.
If you travel a lot and don't have/want roaming, this app allows offline GPS. It works by triangulating mobile phone towers.
Openstreetmaps are free and offer maps from just about anywhere on earth.
