This list is a collection of case studies which show the results of mobile signal repeater installations, across both the public and private sectors.
This includes improving connectivity at a remote wind farm; improving patient wellbeing within a hospice; enabling voice and intertner access on a construction site; providing cellular reception within an underground facility and much more.

The Challenge
Keltbray’s Crewe office is in an area with very poor mobile signal strength and the coverage inside their offices was next to zero, resulting in frustration amongst staff and directors being unable to make or receive calls or text messages. Keltbray’s Group IT Manager tasked us to improve the Vodafone signal throughout the office space, especially the Directors’ offices, which suffered form the worst signal in the building.
The Solution
For this particular project we were able to mount an external high-gain antenna to the roof of the building to ensure cable runs were kept to a minimum, whilst still managing to ensure the signal gain was maximised. We placed six coverage units in the ceiling space which was enough to cover the 11,000ft2 area with full Vodafone coverage.
The new office covers 18,708 sq ft over two floors, with mobile signal improvements key to operations, health and safety, business continuity and staff and client communication.
Boost Pro managed the full process from start to finish. This included initial requirements gathering, design survey and professional installation by certified our engineers.
All four UK carriers – O2, EE, Vodafone and Three – have gone from little to no signal, to a full five bars across both floors in the office.
Wakefield Fire Station - Solution
Background
Wakefield Fire Station is a 26,000ft2, £2.9m fire station project, scheduled to open in August 2020.
The site is made of multiple buildings, all requiring signal improvements for operational purposes, health and safety, emergency business continuity and cross-service communications.
The Solution
Boost Pro managed the full process from start to finish. This included initial requirements gathering, design survey and professional installation by our certified engineers.
EE, the Fire Services preferred network, has gone from zero signal to a full 5 bars.
As this project was implemented during the construction phase, we were able to ensure that the equipment was installed in the best possible locations on the site, for maximum signal gain and minimal disruption to site operations.
The Challenge
Due to the remote location, this operational wind farm in East Ayrshire, Scotland was struggling with poor mobile phone connectivty inside the main control building.
The Solution
Our team attended and installed four of our Boost Pro mobile signal repeater units, high gain external donor antennas and multiple indoor omni antennas.
The entire control building now benefits from strong mobile voice and data connectivty across all four UK networks which helps to support the sites operational and health and safety efforts.
Background
The charity has recently opened a brand new Prince & Princess of Wales palliative care facility in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park. The Scandinavian-inspired hospice is the first in the UK to follow the Sengetun model of care. The idea aims to offer patients quality of life in a place that looks and feels like home, with open spaces, family rooms and private areas.
The goal of the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice has always been that “where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days”.
Boost Pro Systems solve the problem of dropped calls, poor voice quality and low data throughput caused by a weak cellular signal.
Our solutions optimise cellular coverage while improving voice quality and data speeds. Boost Pro products are ideal for enterprise environments, small businesses, remote settings, shopping centres, large offices, hotels etc. Our equipment is unconditionally network safe as it prevents interference with mobile operator networks.
Boost Pro products are the only cellular coverage solutions authorised for use in nearly 100 countries by almost 200 mobile operators, and the technology covers spaces no one has covered before.
Now legal to use on all UK mobile networks due to recent changes under the Wireless Telegraphy (Mobile Repeater) (Exemption) Regulations 2018.
The Challenge
Boost Pro Systems were contracted by the Prince & Princess Wales Hospice to design and install a repeater system which would enhance the mobile signal strength across the hospice.
Due to the complex design of the building and the materials used, large parts of the facility suffer from little to no mobile phone signal. This is particularly problematic in the lower ground area where the patients are located and where the doctors and nurses carry out most of the work.
“A truly bespoke design and approach was
required by our experienced team for this project due to the unique and complex nature of the building.”
– Derek Phillips
Managing Director, Boost Pro Systems
The Solution
Following an onsite survey and consultation period with the hospice staff, Boost Pro Systems installed four network units (to cover all four major networks – EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three) and strategically placed sixteen coverage units to ensure all sections of the hospice were covered.
The Challenge
Due to the complexity in the design of the building and the materials used, the entire facility suffers from absolutely no mobile phone signal coverage across any network.
The company’s corporate mobile phone contract is with EE yet their devices could not be used within the facility causing serious operational challenges as well as having a potential impact on health and safety.
Boost Pro Systems were contracted by Mowi to design and install a system that would repeat the outdoor EE voice and data coverage throughout the facility.
“There are generally two reasons buildings won’t have a strong signal – location and materials used in construction. Mowi had both! We were delighted to provide a solution.”
– Andrew Wright
Business Development Director, Boost Pro Systems
The Solution
An extensive survey was undertaken to determine the best location for the Mimo Antennas. These were then installed externally and linked to 4 daisy chained network units and 16 coverage units strategically located across multiple floors.
Boost Pro Systems were contracted by First Group to design and install a repeater system which would enhance the mobile signal strength for EE, their corporate network provider.
Due to the modern design of the building and the materials used, large parts of The Square suffer from little to no mobile phone signal. With First Group being located on the ground floor of the building, this magnified the signal problem.
“Modern office blocks often struggle with poor mobile connectivity due to the materials used in construction. We were delighted to keep the First Group staff in Sheffield connected”
– Debra Phillips
Commercial Director, Boost Pro Systems
The Solution
Following an onsite survey and consultation period with the IT team from First Group, Boost Pro Systems installed our office grade solution to ensure all sections of the office were covered. The turnaround time from onsite survey to installation was two weeks.
Cononish Gold Mine
Situated in the Grampian Highlands of Scotland, this mine had no access to communications infrastructure due to the highly remote location. Clarus Site Solutions & Boost Pro provided a 4G solution to enable internet access and mobile signal across the full site.
The Solution
Clarus & Boost Pro engineers were back on site at Cononish Gold mine in July 2020 to install the permanent communications infrastructure for site operations over the next 9 years.
Despite there being no mobile signal at ground level, we managed to install our specialist 4G equipment high up on the mine entrance drawing in high speed 4G connectivity over two mobile networks which were then load balancing together.
This connection now serves multiple areas of the site including:
A structured cabling fit out of the new compound was carried out including hard wired data points and WiFi access throughout.
Furthermore, due to the non-existent mobile coverage in and around the site cabins, we installed three Boost Pro mobile signal repeaters on O2, EE and Vodafone proving 5 bars of quality mobile voice and data coverage supporting operations and H&S requirements.
Finally, to support the ongoing protection of workers against Covid-19, we installed one of our facial recognition and temperature scanners in the site offices with a further unit to be installed in the reception next week.
The Challenge
Due to the design of the EICC (as is common with many new buildings) the mobile signal is very strong outside the centre, but very weak inside.
The EICC tasked us to improve the EE signal within the Lennox Suite, the main event area within the conference centre. The Lennox Suite suffered from zero signal due to being below ground level.
The Solution
For this particular project we were able to internally mount the antenna to ensure cable runs were kept to a minimum, whilst still managing to ensure the signal gain was maximised.
We placed two coverage into the Lennox Suite which was enough to cover the 1600m² area with full EE coverage.
