Fun Things to Do in Bangkok – A City of Endless Wonder

Bangkok is often regarded as one of the best capital cities to visit in South East Asia. Here you'll find a fascinating array of attractions to visit and experiences to be had. So, if you ever decide to visit Thailand's bustling capital, here's a look at some of the most fun things you can do.

1

Tour the Grand Palace

The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most famous attraction – and perhaps its most magnificent one as well. Once upon a time, the palace served as the adobe of the King of Siam and the seat of his royal court. While the royalty no longer resides on the premises, traces of their greatness can be seen by all now. You'll find beautifully sculpted gardens here, perfectly complementing the intricate architecture of the various palace buildings. Inside, you'll find colourful tapestries, beautiful works of art and a number of ancient Thai relics. If you're staying at one of the centrally located luxury hotels Bangkok has on offer, say for example at properties offered by chains like Chatrium Hotels & Residences, the palace is just a quick drive away, so don't miss out!

2

Witness the Reclining Buddha

The Wat Pho is only a short walk away from the Grand Palace and houses the stunning Reclining Buddha Statue. Being well over 40 metres long and 16 metres high, this statue is gargantuan and absolutely stunning to witness up-close. What makes it even more stunning is the fact that the entire statue is covered in gold leaf. Once you marvelled at the statue, you can take it easy and enjoy a traditional Thai massage at the premises.

3

Cruise Along the River

The Chai Phraya River flows through the heart of Bangkok and fills up a number of canals along the way. These make for great channels to cruise through and tour the city in. In many ways, the city of Bangkok grew around this river and event today, many people depend on it for their livelihood. As you cruise through waters, you'll find plenty of locals going about their daily lives – it's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the vibe and atmosphere of Thailand.

4

Shop at the Siam Paragon

If you're looking for shopping opportunities in Thailand, you can't go wrong with a trip to the famous Siam Paragon. This shopping precinct is full of all manner of goods – from high-end textiles to intricate works of jewellery. It also contains South East Asia's largest aquarium as well as a cineplex and a huge food court. Automobile enthusiasts will also be pleased to know that several car showrooms are present here and these belong to some elite manufactures like Ferrari and Lotus.

5

Visit the Museum

If you want to uncover the hidden history of Thailand and the story of Bangkok's origin, you'll want to visit the famed Bangkok National Museum. This establishment is home to the most extensive collection of historical Thai artefacts in the world. These range from ancient weapons and jewellery to inscriptions, edicts and precious coins.
