Top 5 Water Sports in Bali – For the Thrill Seeker in You

While Bali may be a paradise of spectacular beaches and sapphire seas it is also a great place for water sports. So if you are a thrill-seeker looking for that blast of adrenaline, a trip to Bali will be the perfect holiday for you. Here are the top five water sports you can enjoy in Bali.

1

The Rolling Donut

The thing about the rolling doughnut is that you can enjoy it together with another friend. It can be a hilarious time, bouncing across the waves while a boat pulls you along. You will have to struggle to keep yourself on the doughnut and that is half the fun. The best time to do this activity is from April to September and is quite an easy adventure to take part in.

2

Jet Skiing

Jet skiing can be up there as probably the most famous and popular water sport. If you are looking for things to do near Canggu, jet skiing is can be a bit of a learning curve but you can get on it pretty fast once you get the hang of it. It is considered easy, but treating it at a medium level is advisable, particularly if you haven't done it before. Make sure you wear a life jacket at all times. The best season to try jet skiing is from April to September.

3

Snorkelling

Snorkelling is one of the slower sports on this list. It focuses more on you taking the time to explore the natural beauty underwater, getting up close and personal with marine life. You should ideally go snorkeling from December to March and if you have never been snorkeling before, as long as you have a guide and the right equipment you should be okay. Resorts in Bali the likes of Nirjhara will have recommended diving schools or their instructor in-house for you to go snorkeling with so check on that before you book your accommodation.

4

Surfing

Surfing is something you should have some experience in before you head out to catch a couple of waves. Bali is one of the premier surfing destinations in the world. If you haven't surfed before you can always sign up for a couple of classes at a local surf school. There are waves in Bali for all kinds of surfers from the beginners to the professional. Do some research beforehand of where you can find the best waves if you are a longtime professional surfer. You are in for the time of your life. The best times of the year to try surfing is from April to October when the conditions are perfect.

5

Water Skiing

If you don't have the balancing capacity to go surfing but you still want to stand on a board with the waves propelling you along, water skiing is for you. The skiboard will be dragged over the waves by a boat and all you have to do is hang on and try to find some purchase of a balance on the board. You can do this from April to October too. But always wear a life jacket.
