Methods and Materials of Thermal Insulation of Buildings

The natural balance of the earth is in great danger due to various harmful human activities. Global warming has become a worldwide threat and might lead to the destruction of nature, if not controlled on time. .

1

Slab or Block Insulation

It is the most extensively used type of thermal insulation material. The sheets are made of cellular glass, mineral wool, or cellular rubber. You can fix this to the wall and roof of your building to prevent loss of heat. Additionally, they will allow you to maintain the required temperature throughout the year. This material is very thick and has an average thickness of 2.5cm.

2

Blanket Insulation

It is a unique type of insulating material and is available in the form of a blanket or a paper roll. You can use these rolls or blankets to spread them evenly over your walls and ceiling. They have a thickness of about 80 mm. In most cases, these blankets are made from fine animal hair or wooden fibers.

3

Loose-Fill Insulation

Sometimes there is a small space in the walls of a building to fit the windows and door. You can use this insulating field to fill those gaps and ensure that there is no form of heat loss from your building. Most companies make these fills from Rock fiber wool or cellulose.

4

Bat Insulating Materials

Similar to blanket insulation, these materials are also available in the form of blanket rolls. However, this material is thicker compared to blanket insulation. Thus, they provide better insulation from the outer temperature gradient. You can spread these sheets on your walls and ceiling.

5

Insulating Boards

Many well-known companies make insulating boards from the pulp of wood or cane. They use special technology to press this pulp with high force, so the pulp takes the form of solid boards. You can buy these sheets from any hardware store in the market. In most cases, these insulating sheets are used for the interior lining of walls and also for insulation in the partition walls.

6

Reflective Sheet Material

Certain insulating materials like aluminum, gypsum, and steel have high amounts of reflective capabilities and low heat emission. Thus, you can use this material for high heat resistance. They use a special technology that allows it to reduce the solar heat energy and reflect it away from the building. You can fix this sheet on the outer walls of your building to prevent heat from entering the house.

7

Light Weight Materials

It is an effective method of heat insulation that you can use while constructing a building. In this method, you have to mix special lightweight materials in the concrete mixture that would prevent heat loss. This special mixture allows the concrete to have more resistance to heat and any form of thermal emission. The common lightweight materials include blast furnace slag, clay aggregate, etc.
