Mirissa Beach

As recommended by Truly Sri Lanka, Mirissa Beach located on the southern coast is ideal for kinds of beach lovers. Surfing is possible, and needless to say, if that's not what you love, you can always sit back and relax on the beach. Since this is one of the most popular beaches in Sri Lanka, it can be a little crowded, especially on the weekends. From November to April and August to October, this beach (the left side of the bay) is great for snorkelling sessions too.

Trincomalee Beach

Trincomalee represents the eastern coast of Sri Lanka, and even if you haven't heard of the Trincomalee Beach, you must have surely heard of the ever pristine Nilaweli Beach. These are two neighbouring beaches located 10-minutes away from each other and both of them are best to explore from February to August. Travel to one of these two beaches during this time and be lucky enough to spot some dolphins and whales.

Hikkaduwa Beach

Hikkaduwa Beach is indeed popular among tourists because it's a great surfing spot. Visit this beach (sometimes overcrowded) during November and April to have an amazing swimming session, and you will also get the opportunity to spot giant turtles moving here and there without any rush near the beach. Go there in an evening and stay till you get the chance to see amazing sunset views on the beach.

Arugam Bay, today, is a very popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka particularly because of the developing surfing spots here. No wonder that people from every corner of the world come to Arugam Bay to surf because the beat waves are undoubtedly here! Many hotels and villas are now there in Arugam Bay and several local businesses also have grown up offering various facilities for local and foreign tourists.

Unawatuna Beach

Unawatuna Beach is for safe swimming, and that means you can take your kids also to this beach without any fear. The narrow golden sandy beach is surrounded by many restaurants and beach bars, and they make your moments extra special. If possible, head to this beach on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and that will be a relaxing experience.

It's a hidden beach on the south-eastern coast of Sri Lanka and paradise seekers love this beach more than anything. You find no big crowds, so the entire space is yours to enjoy!
