Five Stunning Beaches in the Maldives – Small Stretches of Paradise

With over hundreds of islands that are completely encompassed by the sparkling Arabian waters, the Maldives has an abundance of beaches from which you can choose one – or even several – to spend a memorable beach holiday. Here are five stunningly beautiful beaches that you can find in the Maldives.

1

Fulhadoo in Baa Atoll

Fuldahoo is a spectacular location, which boasts of being part of the Baa Atoll's UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. This island, along with its beautiful beaches, is convenient for tourists that travel on a budget as there's a smattering of reasonably priced guesthouses. On the far east of the island, you may find that there is a small fishing community with around 250 natives. Away from the village, one can look forward to relaxing on the pristine coastline and house reef situated towards the west side of the island, where you can wear swimsuits and bikinis without offending the local Muslim community.

2

Dhigurah in South Ari Atoll

If the perfect beach vacation means having access to a long stretch of beach, then the beach on Dhigurah Island is the one for you. It is a long, elongated island, with a beach running along both its sides. One can look forward to experiencing an incredible sunrise on one end of the island, over the lush green growth of the island, and a killer sunset on the other. The immaculate sandbank over the southern tip of the island is ideal for romantic candle-lit dinners and small picnics. Dhigurah Beach paves the way for spotting manta rays and whale sharks around the year during snorkelling or diving tours. There are over 30 diving points around the island and several other famous ones such as the Manta Point and Reethi Thila lying adjacent to it.

3

Ihuru in North Male Atoll

The tiny island of Ihuru is not more than 200 metres wide, which is fantastic news for someone who never wants to be far from the beach. The star attraction of this island is its remarkable house reef that brings you incredible insights to mesmerising schools of fish and other fascinating marine species. One can reach this island after a short trip from the capital of the country. It is an ocean lover's haven with palm-fringed beaches and crystal-clear waters. These beaches also give the islanders access to dive at a popular wreck site, the Ranamaari shipwreck.

4

Reethi Rah in North Male Atoll

Reethi Rah is one of the largest islands of the North Male Atoll. It has an array of picture-perfect beaches adjacent to which several villas are placed, carefully blended into the surrounding lush greenery. The white beaches of this island contrast with the surrounding aquamarine swells of the ocean, making them quite eye-candy to the bystander.

5

Aarah Island in Vaavu Atoll

The glistening waters surrounding Aarah Island have created white sandy beaches that are ideal for lying down for a few hours in total relaxation. The beach paves the way for sporting adventures such as surfing and jet skiing with its perfect swells. Like many other resort islands with breathtaking beaches, Aarah Island, too, houses a beach resort in Maldives the likes of Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives.
