Five Ab Whittling Exercises

Bikini season is fast approaching. You can see it around that corner just over there. The warmer weather calls for shorts, tanks, and bikinis just to keep cool. It is time to be showing off that mid-section. Here are five killer ab moves to make sure that mid-section is gossip worthy. The Bicycle Crunch

The Bicycle Crunch

Lie on your back on the floor, putting your hands behind your head. Raise your head and legs off the floor. Begin to pedal your legs as if you were riding a bicycle. While pedaling your legs, the opposite knee and elbow should meet in the middle. Continually changing sides with each rep. This works all over your abdominals and is really good for your obliques.

Vertical Leg Raise

Vertical Leg Raise

Lie on your back on the floor. Place your hands at your side for support. Raise your legs to a 90 degree angle to your torso. Slowly lower legs to hover 2- 5 inches off the floor. Raise them again to the starting position and repeat. This works your lower abdominal muscles.

Ab Wheels

This exercise requires an ab wheel. Start on your knees, preferably on a mat or pad to protect them. Hold the wheel in front of your with your arms extended slightly. Slowly let the wheel roll out as far as you are comfortable. Then bring it back to starting position utilizing only your abs to do so. This works your entire core.

Begin by laying flat on the floor with straight legs. Raise to a semi-seated position while simultaneously raising your legs straight up. Contracting your abdominals while your hands meet your shins. Return to the starting position and repeat.

Begin by laying flat on the floor with straight legs. Raise to a semi-seated position while simultaneously raising your legs straight up. Contracting your abdominals while your hands meet your shins. Return to the starting position and repeat.
