Mike Beech is a director, cinematographer, editor, camera operator, drone pilot, colourist and photographer. He has worked in a wide variety of genres including documentary, high-end TVCs, fashion, music videos, broadcast television, travel, corporate and charity projects.
This post is a collection of shots from a trip to Venice last summer with my beautiful wife, Jiwon. We had an incredible time traveling around Italy and I took my almost dead Canon AE-1 camera with me.
One of the upsides to production slowing down in 2020 is that it has given me a bit of time to revisit older projects and today I thought I’d put together a little post about my experience directing a commercial for Volkswagen featuring Winnie Harlow.
Continuing on from the last post, here are a few more shots from a trip to London a year ago. This summer certainly feels very different and I really miss shooting. My Bronica S2 was actually in the repair shop for a much-needed tune-up when lock down began and, as the store currently remains closed, it is still sat there.
It is very strange to go back through this set of photos from last year and think about how much our world has changed since then. Spending a day walking freely through a city can be a real joy and I hope I will never take it for granted again.
