Spread over an impressive area of 188,800 square metres, Dusit Zoo is the first of its kind in Thailand. Also known as Khao Din Wana, it is surrounded by a number of iconic landmarks and many a service apartment in Bangkok. It was initially built as the private garden of King Rama V, which was left unattended for many years after his demise. Nowadays, one can find a mélange of animals at Dusit Zoo such as monkeys, alligators, lions, and tigers. The zoo has separate enclosures that sound intriguing to its visitors like Nocturnal House, Hawks Exhibit, Pheasants Aviary, and Reptile House to name a few. A star attraction of this place is that many African animals are facilitated to roam about freely in large enclosures.
