Ultimate Packing List for the Maldives – The little things you tend to leave behind

So, why is it important to have a packing checklist for the Maldives? It's pretty much normal beach holiday clothing that goes right? While this is true, if you do happen to forget anything, the convenience store is definitely not within walking distance to go buy it. Remember that you will be on a resort island after all. So, here's a list of important items to pack in for the Maldives.

1

Sunscreen for the heat

The Maldives is an island with tropical weather and the heat of the sun on some days be very intense. Especially if you have sensitive skin, you'll easily get sunburns and that's something nobody wants to have to deal with when on holiday. Therefore, don't forget your sunscreen. If you are going to be in the water a lot, consider choosing an eco-friendly sunscreen so that you won't cause the corals any harm.

2

A sunhat

You might not think a sunhat is anything more than an accessory for great photographs. But the sunhat can really protect your face from severe sunburn. So please do pack one in. You can also purchase a sunhat when you arrive on the islands, perhaps from the souvenir shops in your hotel on your way to your villa in Maldives. But sunhats can be very expensive and will not protect you from the rays of the sun as much.

3

Sunglasses

This is yet another necessary item that needs to be on the list. Walking and relaxing on the beach in the midday heat can be much better when your eyes are protected from the harsh UV rays. Pack in at least 2 pairs just in case you lose one.

4

Dry bags

A dry bag can come in handy if you plan on indulging on a boat ride. These bags can keep your stuff dry just in case you end up getting wet on your cruise.

5

A wet bag

These are very useful to take with you to spend a day at the beach. If you end up wetting your clothes or beach towel, you can take them back in this bag without having to worry about wetting the other items.

6

Underwater camera

Planning on going snorkelling or diving snorkelling, capturing those moments could be great. Therefore, remember to pack in an underwater camera. Capture pictures of those beautiful corals and colourful fish for a wonderful memory of the Maldives.

7

Snorkelling gear

While resorts like Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas will happily rent out their snorkel gear for a low rate. But there is still the fact that others have used it. It is better to take your own gear when it is easier to pack as well.

8

Cover-ups and footwear

You might be spending most of your time in the water but bring a piece of clothing that can protect your body from the rays of the sun once you are out of the waters. When it comes to footwear, flipflops are ideal for the beach. but pack in a pair of dressy flats to wear for dinner.
