Must-Try Experiences in Hua Hin – Take Part in the Most Popular Local Tours

Hua Hin is a popular seaside destination that has been attractive to tourists looking for an unconventional tropical holiday in Thailand. If you are planning to visit Hua Hin once the lockdown has been lifted here's how to make the most of your Hua Hin holiday.

1

Snorkelling in Talu Island

Head to Koh Talu for a snorkelling tour. Talu Island is a gem, set in the middle of the turquoise seas and only 15 minutes by boat from the nearest fishing town. It is called an aquatic wonderland thanks to the abundance of snorkelling locations where you will easily be able to find delicate and new coral species the likes of Staghorn Corals, Mushroom Corals, Branching Pore Corals among others. The water is clear enough that you can see the bottom of your boat. Make sure that you are well protected against the sun with a strong SPF cream.

2

Pala-U Waterfall

One of Thailand's most rich and biodiverse forests is where you would go to find Pala-U waterfall. It would have to be a full day tour as you would have to travel some distance from your hotel in Hua Hin. The Kaeng Krachan National Park is one of the largest national reserves in the country and is an oasis of nature and solitude that you would love to explore regardless of the waterfall. A full day hike around the national park will take you to the waterfall which is made up of 11 tiers as well as the tribal grounds of the Karen ethnic community. There are so many animals and plants that you will also be able to see like bears, elephants and over 400 species of birds.

Hua Hin and Cha-am Discovery

If you are staying at a Hua Hin resort the likes of Anantara Hua Hin, you can make a small day journey to the neighbouring Cha-am Island. It is like a step back in time when you enter Marughadayavan Palace which was commissioned by King Rama the VI in a hybrid Thai-Victorian architectural style. While you are appreciating the classic architecture, you can also visit Monkey Mountain on Cha-am as well as the Khao Krailas and Khao Takiab temples. It will also give you a fabulous view of the entire island all the way to the beach.

4

Kayaking in Khao Daeng

Go kayaking in Khao Daeng for a complete day of utter relaxation and completely attuning yourself to the surroundings and really connecting with nature. Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park is just 30 minutes' drive from the town. You will be interested to know that the jungle was the setting for the movie, The Killing Fields.
