Things to See and Do in Ba Na Hills, Vietnam – A Mountaintop Resort Close to Hoi An

If you are holidaying in Hoi An and are looking for somewhere exciting and unique to explore, head off to the Ba Na Hills. A mountaintop resort which was built to look like a medieval castle with modern amenities inside which will give you a truly enchanting time right in Vietnam.

1

Ride the Cable Cars

A cable car system was introduced to Ba Na Hills in 2013 and holds Guinness World Records for greatest elevation change and the widest gap between stations. You will get some spectacular views of Danang and the sprawling countryside of Vietnam from the top. It would make for a great day trip from the hotels in Hoi An you'll be staying at.

2

Stroll Through a French Village

Enter this village and you'll suddenly be transported to the French Alps. It is quite possible to suspend your belief enough to think that you have fallen through a portal and are no longer in Vietnam. The French village is situated at an elevation of 4921 feet and is bedecked in cobblestone streets and buildings that have a distinctly European feel to them. The best bit? When it is night-time and the mist covers the mountains, you will be utterly transported. It is a magic that must be experienced and something you wouldn't often find in a tropical holiday destination.

3

Visit the Wax Museum

If you are staying at a hotel the likes of Anantara Hoi An Resort, you can ask them to provide you with a chauffeured car for your day trip to Ba Na Hills. Then you don't have to worry about driving at night after visiting the wax museum. There are some stiff approximations of certain famous people that you can get close enough to if their rendering doesn't frighten you. You can snap some photographs so you can scare your loved ones back home.

4

Ride the Alpine Coaster

If you are looking for something to get your blood pumping then the Alpine Coaster is where you should be, hurtling over the trees at 40 km an hour. But if that scares you then there's nothing for you to worry about either, as either way since each car comes with its own braking system so you can control it according to your wishes.

5

Eat at the Kavkaz Restaurant

Zipping up and down all over the mountain will have given you a sizeable appetite. It is then time to visit one of the many restaurants in Ba Na Hills that will provide a solution to whatever shape your hunger may be. If you'd like something spectacular visit Kavkaz – a restaurant by Russian Chef Zakharov Roman which serves some delicious Russian dishes such as grilled lamb and a host of other Russian favourites reimagined in a gourmet setting. If you are planning on spending the night or if you asked your hotel to send a chauffeur with you as mentioned before, you can have a couple of shots of vodka to wash it all down.
