Wangfujing Street

When it comes to snack streets in Beijing, your first stop has to be the charming Wangfujing Street. The location is considered to be one of the busiest shopping streets in Beijing and an extremely popular tourist attraction. The food selection on offer here is truly diverse. You'll find all kinds of fresh fruit that have been cut up and readied for you to sample. Meats of all kinds are laid out alongside succulent sauces and garnish varieties. For the adventurous ones, you can even try exotic cuisine like scorpions, crickets, and snakes! Commonly referred to as Ghost Street, Guijie is a very popular snack street -particularly among Beijing's locals. This is a 1.5 kilometre stretch of road that's lined up with a continuous stream of cafes, restaurants, and vending stalls. The place is primarily known for two main things – cheap prices and fiery spices. So, if you're looking to put your palate to the test and try out some of the hottest dishes in the city, Ghost Street is where you need to head.

Niujie Muslim Snack Street

Niuje Street – also referred to as Ox Street – is well known for having a large Muslim population – the nearby Niujie Mosque is the largest and oldest mosque you'll find in Beijing. This is the place in the city to go to if you're in the mood to try out some snacks and dishes that are popular with the Muslim community. Here you'll find a collection of meals that primarily revolve around beef and mutton as well as a variety of pastries.

Fucheng Street

Fucheng Street is a more upscale take on the traditional Beijing snack street. It is primarily a location for business people to mingle and share meals. There's a great selection of upscale restaurants to choose from here. These serve up a variety of cuisine including Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangsu cuisine, alongside a host of other famous regional delicacies. There are a number of Cantonese restaurants to be found here as well and these serve up some of the best seafood you'll find anywhere in Beijing.

There are all kinds of snacks for you to try out at Nanluoguxiang – one of the most frequented snack streets in the region. While the snack shops there aren't necessarily the oldest and most traditional, there's a great sense of variety here – from crispy treats to bubble tea!
