Amazing things you didn’t know your iPhone could do – Not just an ordinary phone

iPhones came into being over 10 years ago, and since then, they have been making revolutions over and over again. It's not just about the appearance, but also about the overall functionality! Unfortunately, most of the users themselves do not know what and what their phones can do.

1

Receive notifications in multiple ways

Who said it's a must that all your notifications should sound the same? How about receiving your emails with a bell sound and receiving text messages with a raindrop sound? Yes, on your iPhone you can get these alerts customized as per your preferences. You can change the banner styles and many other features, and you just have to go to settings and then notifications to do all this magic!

2

Make Siri sound different

If you are someone who is using the phone brand Apple in Sri Lanka, you must be familiar with Siri- the assistant. Yes, it sounds like an American woman- but, did you know that you can change the gender of it? You just have to go to settings, then Siri & Search and check out the options given under Siri Voice. Here, you can change the gender, as well as the accent with American, South African, Irish and British accents.

3

Have personalized ringtones

How about having a special ringtone for your parents, and then a different one for your best friend? Won't that help you recognizing who calls you even without looking at the phone screen? On your iPhone, you can do this quite easily. And, if you want, you can set certain photos for different callers as well. How loveable will that be to see your mom's picture on your screen when you get a call from her? You will simply love these customizations, and soon will want to have them done on your phone.

4

An alternate appearance for Face ID

Those who have purchased newer iPhones (X, XS, XS Max, XR 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max) from Urban.lk must be enjoying the Face ID recognition option. Yes, that's so smart, but it's sometimes annoying when Face ID fails to recognize you. But, with iOS 12, you can now set up an alternate appearance for the phone to recognize. If you are someone wearing spectacles often, set up this alternate appearance with that- and you'll avoid many embarrassments in the future.

5

You don't need to use the same default ringtone

This may look like a basic fact, but some iPhone users don't know this. Apple has its default ringtone, but you don't necessarily have to keep it as it is forever. You can change it to anything that you want, and that's not even a complicated process. Go to settings, sounds, and then choose ringtone to make any change you want that fits your personality. If what's already there in the collection do not fit in, go to the iTunes Store to purchase some latest music that'll delight everyone who hears it when you get a call.
