The food scene in the Maldives

Being a collection of beautiful islands, the Maldives is of course a paradise for those who have a craving for seafood. Fish (tuna), coconuts, and starches will be the main ingredients of most of the dishes you find in this country, but you'll surely love the diversity of each of them. It's one of the most common and favourite dishes in the Maldives. 'Garudiya' is made of tuna, and it's a clear broth they prepare by also adding curry leaves and onions. You will simply love the fragrance of this authentic dish, and you may either choose to have it as a soup or eat it with rice or flatbread. If you decide to have it as a soup, add some lime before enjoying it and this also counts as a great appetizer too.
