Thanks to the simple interface and the popularity of iPod touches, which has the same interface, the iPhone feels very familiar to users. With Android, it’s easy to configure apps incorrectly, which often leads to the app not performing as well as it was intended to perform.
The iPhone ensures all apps and functions are performing the way Apple intended them to perform, which allows for a very simple user experience. Often, users consider this to be one of the iPhones best features.
As far as consistency goes, every iPhone works the same, while every Android works differently. There’s even separate launchers for Android, depending on which phone provider you have and which launcher you’d like to add on your own. While this allows for more freedom and choices, it’s not very predictable for users.
In addition, search is so much simpler on the iPhone. Go to the left of the homepage, and you’re ready to search. With Android, you’re unable to turn on searching for apps in the phone settings, or searching for apps using the Google Settings app. You must go into the Google app and select settings.
This is just plain confusing and complicated. Many users don’t understand why the Google Settings app isn’t the same as the Google app’s settings page. In summary, Android has the ability to do more, but everything is so much easier to do on an iPhone!
