Hua Hin is found in the Gulf of Thailand and is considered to be one of the very best seaside resort destinations in the region. There's an absurd variety of attractions to visit and experience here. So, here are the top 5 most must-visit places in Hua Hin!

1

Wat Hua Hin

There are a number of grand temples you can visit here, but few are able to surpass and is perhaps the most famous and culturally significant one you'll find in Hua Hin. Also referred to as the Wat Ampharam, this monastery is found at the very heart of Hua Hin Town. The temple itself stands out perfectly from its surroundings due to some striking architecture and elaborate decorations. It's location also makes it an easy visit if you're staying at a centrally-located resort Hua Hin has on offer – say, for example, the AVANI+ Hua Hin Resort.

2

Hua Hin Market

If there's an inner shopaholic waiting inside you, just waiting to burst out during the vacation, be sure to visit the amazing Hua Hin Market. The Hua Hin market is a night market found on Petchkasem Road. As evening settles in, things start to get lively around the market as vendor set up for the night and the locals arrive to peruse through the day's wears. There's a great selection of items available here – from traditional garments and local snacks to rare ornaments and even live pets! Opposite the markets, you'll find an array of restaurants that sell some delectable Thai cuisine. Quite the way to round out your shopping trip!

3

Wat Huay Mongkol

This fascinating temple is a bit further off than most attractions. To be more precise, you'll have to travel around 10 kilometres away from the Hua Hin city centre to reach it. That being said, the destination makes that whole journey more than worth it. In fact, hundreds of Buddhist pilgrims make the journey to the temple every weekend to pay their respects and receive a blessing. The most prominent feature found at this temple is the famous statue of Luang Phor Tuad. It depicts a Buddhist monk seated while meditating. It is one of the largest such statues found in Thailand being over 12 metres tall! There's some great natural scenery to take in here as well. Just outside the temple premises is a large lake that serves as a refuge for several rare varieties of wading birds.

4
