Maldives Packing Essentials – Prepping for Paradise

The Maldives has become one of the most popular beach destinations to visit anywhere in the world. Each year, thousands of beach enthusiasts rush to these paradise islands n search of a good time – if you're one of them, here's everything you need to pack with you.

1

Swimming Essentials

To start things off, be sure to grab all the swimming gear you need! After all, you'll almost certainly be spending a great deal of time in the water. It's a good idea to pack at least two pairs of swimsuits each. This way, you can leave one out to dry while wearing the other. Of course, you can always pack a few extra pairs too just to be safe. Now, you might also be planning to go snorkelling or scuba diving while you're here. After all, most of the major resorts in Maldives – such as the Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi – will offer their own tours centred around these activities. So, be sure to pack up a snorkelling kit or the essential scuba gear. You can always rent the rest of the required equipment from your hotel or at a vendor.

2

Beach Essentials

If you're not in the water, chances are you're lapping up all that tropical sunlight at the beach. But staying comfortable out here isn't always a cinch, and you'll want to make sure you have everything to avoid getting burnt. This means bringing a hat with you to keep your head shaded – sure, the tropical sun is great, but it can get really intense by midday. Similarly, a pair of sunglasses and some sunscreen can prove to be invaluable.

3

Clothing

Unsurprisingly, the Maldives get a lot of sunlight every year. This means that the temperatures here are usually warm and can even get sweltering at times. As such, you'll want to pack up clothes that are light and will help you stay comfy during your vacation. While you're free to wear anything at your resort, you will have to dress somewhat conservatively if you're planning on visiting the town. So, be sure to pack up some long pants and long-sleeved tops in that case.

Cameras

The Maldives is full of beauty and some truly spectacular sights – ones which you'll undoubtedly want to capture and keep with you forever. That's why you should always remember to pack up your camera before making the trip. If you are planning to go snorkelling at one of the best Maldives tourist attractions – be sure to bring an underwater camera with you as well. You'll need it to capture all the vibrant beauty found amidst the waves. If you prefer taking pictures with your phone, consider getting a water-tight case for it.

Now that you've got all the basics sorted out, it's time to make sure you got all the little things packed in as well. You'll obviously need your passport, visas, credit cards and booking passes. It's not a bad idea to pack up some toiletries as well, you never know when this stuff can come in handy.
