Some safety harness anchor points have both chest straps and buckles. Also, there are harness anchor points which only have chest straps. You may choose as per your preference. Many welders would prefer harnesses which have both buckles and straps because they feel that these kinds of harnesses are more secure.
There are several kinds of welding jobs and as a welder; you are bound to come across several of them. Some welders work on docks or ships, others work in the automotive industry and some end up working in the pipelines, drilling platforms and oil companies. Some welding jobs require that the welder to work in the air for a very long periods. That is where the role of the safety harness anchor comes in.
