Top 5 Things to Do on a Mui Ne Getaway – Fun Adventures in Vietnam

Providing an ideal and idyllic seaside escape, Mui Ne offers plenty of unforgettable experiences for those journeying to this charming resort town on Vietnam's south coast. There is much to do here, though you can decide how laid-back or activity-filled you want your holiday to be!

1

Spend Time at the Beach

Amongst the main allures in the region is the sun-kissed shoreline which can be found here; stretching for around 15 kilometres, it is home to some lovely beaches where one can spend all day soaking up the sun, lazing in the sand and frolicking in the surf. Look to stay at one of the resorts in Mui Ne located right beside the beach; you can work on your tan to your heart's content, enjoy water sports, play beach games with the family, take romantic strolls or engage in some yoga too.

2

Enjoy Kitesurfing

While at the beach, you can also try your hand at kitesurfing for which some of the best conditions in Asia can be found in Mui Ne! Resort options along the shore will give you easy access to many surf shacks and schools that offer lessons catering to both novices and pros. Apart from the main beach, other coastal areas such as Malibu and Suoi Nuoc are also ideal for this activity. While you can look to try kitesurfing at different times of the year, the main season is from November to the end of April.

3

Explore the Sand Dunes

This destination is also well-known for its White Sand Dunes and Red Sand Dunes. Easy to reach from properties the likes of Anantara Mui Ne Resort, the White Sand Dunes offer hauntingly beautiful white desert landscapes which are especially beautiful to see at sunrise. It is also a great spot for quad bike rides or even a hot air balloon tour! Named after the hue of its sand, the Red Sand Dunes are well worth visiting too, especially at sunset. You can also try sand-sledding here and wade around the waters of the Fairy Springs.

4

Visit the Po Shanu Cham Towers

Those interested in local history can visit the Po Shanu Cham Towers at the top of Ong Hoang Hill in nearby Phan Thiet. Dating back to the 8th century during the time of the Champa Kingdom, these historic towers are believed to have been built in honour of Hindu deities including Lord Shiva; the main tower reaches a height of around 15 metres and has several lingams of Lord Shiva. The site is also home to a small pagoda and offers stunning views of Phan Thiet too.

5

Spend Time at the Fishing Village

To soak up some local culture one can plan an early morning excursion to the Mui Ne fishing village. Here, one will be able to witness the livelihood of traditional fishermen as they sort out their daily catch which can include groupers, stingrays, crabs and more; capturing shots of the fishing boats at sunrise is not to be missed either. You can complete the experience by savouring some freshly made seafood or traditional local dishes on offer at open-air restaurants and food carts near the shore.
