Maldives packing list: Dos and Don'ts – Tips you shouldn’t miss when packing

When getting ready for an overseas tour, packing plays an important role. If the destination that you are visiting is good for shopping, you pack whatever is the most needed, as you know for a fact, that you'll be coming back with so much more. But, what to pack for a Maldivian tour? Let's find out.

1

Do include all sorts of sun protection

The Maldives is a tropical country, with less or no rains all throughout the year. So, you can't expect this island nation to be cold and gloomy with no sun. Whatever you do in the Maldives, you will have to get exposed to the sun, which can sometimes be a great hindrance. So, the best thing is to be prepared for the sun. Include all sorts of sun protection in your luggage and this means taking a sun hat, sun cream, and sunglasses with you when you go.

2

Do take the other small bags

Yes, it's true that you take your main luggage and a handbag (if you are a lady) with you, but when travelling to the Maldives, it's a must that you take some mini-bags too. Take a beach bag with you for your Maldivian escape. This is perfect for when you are heading to the beach, and it will come in handy to put your lip balm, sunscreen, and other small items before going. If you have an idea to engage in sunset fishing, also take a dry bag with you to protect your electronics like the phone while you have fun.

3

Swimwear and the other clothes

Where are you going to stay in the Maldives? Is it at one of the Maldives water bungalow resorts Then you can wear whatever is comfortable for you, even a short skirt or shorts. But, if you intend to go out to the cities for shopping and sightseeing, make sure you wear something that covers your body because the Maldives is a Muslim country, and you should obey their culture. As places such as Heritance Aarah have gym facilities and sunrise yoga sessions, you may also take some sporty clothes with you all the way to the Maldives. Do not forget to pack more than one swimwear, as you will surely need at least two of them.

4

Do not take any alcohol with you

To some of you, holidays will mean nothing without a touch of alcohol. But, when you travel to the Maldives, there are certain restrictions applicable to the consumption of alcohol. Unlike other countries, you can take any alcohol brand to the Maldives, but, you can (if you want) have them at most of the island resorts there.

5

Clothes not to take

Avoid packing too many war clothes if you are packing for your Maldivian tour. In the Maldives, you will not need wooly jumpers even on a rainy day, because the climate is that warm. As you can wear flip flops at almost every time, you don't need to take many shoes with you too.
