This Hindu temple was built over 1200 years ago and is currently managed by the state. It was built by Ballalasena who was the younger brother of Shri Sudharma the Arakanese King. This temple is the centre of Hinduism and its practices in Bangladesh. It is colourfully painted and relatively well preserved. It is only a short drive from Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka if you don't mind the heavy traffic.

2

Lalbagh Fort

Constructed in the 17th century by Prince Mohammed Azam the Mughal fort known as Lalbagh Fort was only halfway constructed and the rest of it fell to Shaista Khan, the then Governor of Dhaka. The tomb of the daughter, Pari Bibi is situated within the fort. It is a classic example of Mughal architecture and a must-visit site in Dhaka. There is a small museum inside the fort displays Mughal-era paintings, swords, firearms and calligraphy.

3

Khan Mohammed Mridha's Mosque

It is very similar in structure to the Lalbagh Fort and is yet another depiction of Mughal engineering and architecture. The mosque is built on a raised dais with a flight of twenty-five steps. If you are visiting, make sure to observe mosque etiquette by covering your arms and legs and wearing a scarf over your hair if you are a woman.

The community today is almost extinct but the church lives on as if it is the soul of these people. Amid all the hustle and bustle of the city of Dhaka, the Armenian Church has been a source of tranquillity since 1781, in the heart of it all. So, if you want to find someplace full of history and solitude when you step outside one of your hotels in Dhaka, you know where to go.

One of Dhaka's most popular attractions for tourists and locals alike is the Star Mosque which was constructed sometime during the early 18th century. The mosque was originally established in a typically Mughal style of architecture but was altered rather radically later on. The walls of the mosque are decorated in the most beautiful mosaic stars which are how it came by its name. it is a breathtakingly beautiful creation that you should add to your list when you are in Dhaka.
