Planning on your next family trip already, but not sure where to go this time? Give Paramatta a try, won't you? The place is full of exciting things to see and do and the kids are going to love every second here! given below are a few must-dos when you are here.

1

Dine out with kids

Down Church Street between Paramatta River and Philip Street is a plethora of cafes serving some amazing food and drink. There is so much choice here down Eat Street, so, the kids can pick whatever pleases their taste buds this time. Head over to Paramatta Park and you'll find an old tea house offering snacks and light meals. The surroundings are colourful and have a lovely family feel to it. Further up Church Street is a large square, across from this are a number of small eateries and food trucks, but the best part here for the kids would be the water fountains where they can have a few splashes as well.

A bit of history

The kids, even if it might be for a short time are always fascinated with history and Paramatta's got this section covered as well with 2 of Australia's oldest buildings in the vicinity. If you are heading to Paramatta Park, check out the Old Government House before you sit down to eat. This is the longest standing public house in the country. To learn more about this colonial building, take a tour that's available from Tuesday to Sunday. Elizabeth's Farms located down 70 Alice Street, Rosehill is yet another example of a colonial-style bungalow which was built back in 1793 for Mr and Mrs Macarthur.

Domain Creek within the park is a fun place for older kids who are always feeling more adventurous as they play. You could also walk along the Paramatta River, under the Lenox Bridge and past the open-air theatre. Foreshore Playground is a wonderful place for the kids down this route with an exciting slide and fascinating equipment as well.

The walkway beside the river also has a cycle lane where you could cycle all the way up to Sydney Olympic Park. When it comes to fun and games in the water, although there aren't many pools in this place, you can always rely on your hotel in Paramatta, Sydney for this facility.
