If you live in Utah and are considering LASIK eye surgery, there are some things you should know beforehand. Any procedure can be frightening, but if you have the right information and you know what you’re getting yourself into, you will be much better equipped to handle everything on the day of the surgery. In case your doctor hasn’t explained everything to you in minute detail, I have listed below four important things you should know before you get LASIK eye surgery
In case you had no idea how long you would be spending in the Utah surgery room, the entire LASIK procedure takes only 5-10 minutes per eye. You won’t be spending too long in the actual procedure. Before you know it, your eyes should be working perfectly again!
Talk with your doctor specifically about what your vision should result in after LASIK eye surgery. Your doctor should be able to tell you if you are likely to end up with perfect elven vision after the surgery or just better vision. Either way, knowing what to expect is important.
After surgery your eyes will be unusually dry and eye drops will be necessary. Many people use eye drops every hour or so for the first few weeks and then several times a day for the first several months after eye surgery in Utah.
For the first week or so you will be advised to wear goggles in the shower. The goggles protect water from injuring your sensitive eyes. Also, whether you live in sunny California or snowy Utah, invest in a good pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from sunshine and sun glare. Even when it’s not particularly sunny, your eyes will be particularly sensitive to light and can become damaged if they are exposed.
