5 hidden gems to explore in Gold Coast – There’s much more to GC

With many resorts and theme parks, the Gold Coast became one of the most alluring tourist destinations. But, today, it has evolved into an entrepreneurial hub where small boutiques and shops keep popping up among the high-rises. Here are a few magical places to visit in GC.

1

Echo Beach

Now, when it comes to beaches in Gold Coast, there is a 57 km stretch of golden sands and cobalt waters to hang out. After all, this is what the place is famous for. But why not try Echo Beach this time around? The surroundings are quieter than other beaches although it may get crowded during the daytime. So, the best time to visit would be in the morning. Echo Beach is one of the best beaches for swimming and stand-up paddleboarding (known as SUPing in GC). It is also the perfect place to soak in some rays in a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

2

The Village Market

The concept initiated just over a decade ago during the global financial crisis but is a major success story today. Situated close to Burleigh beach, the market happens every first Sunday and third Sunday of each month. The Village Market is what paved the way for the breakthrough of many of the local designers. You can always spend a day at the beach and then walk right down to TMV when you work up and appetite. Buy some delicious snacks and drinks from the many food trucks here and simply relax.

3

Currumbin Beach

This beach might be a bit off the beaten track but is worth it if you are seeking some relaxation. It has also piqued the attention of certain celebrities as well. The beach is bordered with greenery and buildings are not in sight. The powdery sands and warm azure waters are untouched and clean. It is one of the best things to here would be stand-up paddleboarding and swimming in the warm waters.

4

Broadbeach

More than a hidden gem, this one seems to be shining brightly with all the glitz and glamour! With numerous accommodation options such as Avani Broadbeach Residences, tourists have a great choice when it comes to places to stay. The beach is known for some great surfs and is always crowded with locals and tourist alike. There are a few shopping experiences you simply can't miss out around here. Not to mention the view from sky point! Things to do in Broadbeach are in plenty and will never run out.

5

Natural Bridge Waterfall

If you thought Gold Coast was all about the beaches only, well, you thought wrong! Head over to Spring Brook National Park and you'll know what this refers to. Within the park is a collection of sub-tropical trees which make up the rain forest which is also home to a few waterfalls. But the main attraction of the park is none other than the Natural Bridge. This is a waterfall that pours straight into a pool through a hole in a cave-like structure. It's one of the most magnificent sights to behold.
