Although introvert travellers may be rare, they still do exist. If any of you dislike crowds and just like to enjoy a holiday quietly by yourself, this is possible even in Bangkok. If the thought of visiting a tourist hub that's always abuzz with people, here's why you shouldn't be!

1

For the outdoor-loving introvert

Bangkok might be all urban but isn't completely void of greenery. Chatuchak and Lumpini park are the most popular places to get away from the concrete jungle. But it still might seem a little too crowded for the introvert. If this is so, Bang Krachao, an island on the Chao Phraya River is your best choice. It's quiet here with a few spaces that are not crowded as much. You will be able to relax by enjoying a bike ride around the island taking in the bright green scenery for some eye candy. However, it is not that close to the city centre, so you'll need at least half a day to explore the place known as the Green Lung of Bangkok.

For the bookies

If you love to relax with a good book to read, there are a few places which could be your cup of tea in Bangkok. Neilson Hays Library is located in a part of Bangkok where it isn't all that hectic. Located just 23 minutes away from hotels like Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor Bangkok, this library is just the way you'd like it to be. Warm, cosy and surrounded by books, is there anything more you could ask for! There are other bookstores as well like Dasa Book Café and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre that sell books with hardcovers as well.

Temples for the introvert

The very popular temples like Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaew are visited by crowds so large each day that even the extrovert might need a break from seeing so many heads in just a few hours. Therefore, the introvert is sure to find it too overwhelming as well. In this case, although these temples are the ultimate works of art in Thailand, you'd better not visit them if it'll make you feel uncomfortable. Instead, temples like Wat Sangwat, Wat Sam Phraya and Wat Chakrawat are just 3 of many laid-back temples you could visit in Bangkok.

For the art lovers

Art galleries are less crowded in comparison to temples, even so, the number of people at the very popular places like Bangkok Art and Culture Centre might seem a little too much to handle. There are plenty of other art galleries in Bangkok however, with next to no crowds like 100 Tonson Gallery with a minimalist design incorporated to the building's very architecture. You'll find it more peaceful in galleries like this which also happen to be close to many a service apartment Bangkok near BTS Station.
