Top 5 Adventures to Have in Sydney – Outdoor Fun for Everyone!

Sydney is where you need to be if you are on the brink of planning an adventurous time in Australia. There are plenty of options, some slightly dangerous so the adrenaline junkie in you will finally be sated. Here are our top five outdoor adventures you can have while you are in Sydney.

1

A Road Trip

You can take a summer road trip in some of the more famous rounds in Australia, or you could do them all, depending on how much time you have. You can head out into the Blue Mountains which is popular among hikers, romantics and adventurers. It is the perfect escape from city life, especially during the summer. Also, try Port Macquarie where you can drive along the Central Coast and stop on the way for wine and surfing. other options for a grand road trip are Narooma, Dubbo and Orange, Jervis Bay and the Hunter Valley.

2

Rollercoaster Ziplines

Did you know that rollercoaster zip lines were a thing in Australia? Well, now you do and if you are serious about your sense of adventure you could head down to the Treetops Crazy Rider which is about an hour's drive from your apartment hotel in Sydney. The crazy riders are a mix between rollercoasters and zip lines and stretch about 500m long in the case of the one in Western Sydney. It takes about 30 minutes to zip across and also feature 360-degree loops for some added thrill.

3

Figure 8 Pools in the Royal National Park

Figure Eight Pools in the Royal National Park is something completely out of this world. It is located on a dangerous rock shelf so you must exercise caution when you planning your trip, taking into consideration possible wave forecasts. The National Park is open from 7 am to 7 pm daily. It is about an hour's drive from Oaks Sydney Castlereagh Suites so don't leave it until too late in the evening to visit especially since it can be rather volatile in terms of visibility. Figure 8 Pools are so named because they look like someone drew the number on the shelf.

4

Canyoning

Canyoning is another fantastic and adrenaline-inducing activity that you can set off to do with your friends or family when you are in Sydney. Canyoning in the Blue Mountains is one of the extreme ways with which you can connect with nature on a deeper level. Canyoning companies located in Australia have programmes that allow you a full day of adventure and exhilaration whilst fastened on the edge of a cliff.

5

Kayaking

Another awesome sport you should be trying it kayaking. It is a great way to see the Sydney Harbour for one and imagine how magical it would be to kayak under the shadow of the Sydney Opera House? It is also a slow method of adventure where you can connect with your inner mind while your arms paddle.
