The endangered Arabian Oryx is considered the national animal of Oman. It is a white antelope with a very unique shoulder bump, a tufted tail and long straight horns. The first university of the country is the Sultan Qaboos University which was established in 1986. It is considered one of the most prestigious universities in the world and requires very high scores in school to get in. The university is a complete town located in Al Khoud which is situated in the capital of Muscat. It is open for all Omanis and provides stores, accommodation and a grand library.
Omanis are considered some of the greatest shipbuilders in the world. Since the peninsula is strategically placed surrounded by water on the north, south and east of the country.
