6 Magical Attractions in Broome – Quirky and One-Of-A-Kind

The thing about Broome is that it is a region of Australia that does not get the attention it deserves, particularly because it is a region that is magical and unique in terms of its attractions. It is unlike anywhere else in the world with so much natural beauty and much to see.

1

Horizontal Falls

If you are heading on a day tour of Kimberly Wilderness, don't forget to visit the famous Horizontal Falls. It is also part of a very scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago. Horizontal Falls is as magical and otherworldly as you can imagine and people who stay in luxury resorts like Oaks Broome Hotel will always put this place on their list.

2

Riddell Beach

Harder to find than the famous Cable Beach, Riddell Beach is a must-visit because of its red dirt track. You can whizz around on a quad bike and it makes it a popular destination for families with teenagers. But it doesn't all have to do with wild racing. The beach has some beautiful rock formations and looks utterly breath-taking in the sunset. There's plenty to do for the whole family.

3

Dinosaur Footprints

The largest dinosaur footprints have been discovered in Broome. If you say that to your young children, you can bet you will immediately have to start looking for accommodation in Broome. Palaeontologists keep discovering newer instances along the aptly named Dinosaur Coast and your kids would want a part of that.

4

Go Fish

The coast of Broome is just perfect for fishing and that would mean you can make it a family outing by hiring a boat to take you out to Roebuck Bay to catch some Mangrove Jack, Threadfin Salmon or a nice big Barramundi. There are plenty of professional fishing charters that will be willing to take you along.

5

Staircase to the Moon

A magical and almost fantastical phenomenon, the Staircase to the Moon occurs from March to October over Roebuck Bay when the moon rises over the mudflats at low tide and gives you the impression that you can climb the glistening stairway right up to the moon. It is a magical and romantic phenomenon and is probably the perfect setting for you if you are planning to propose to your significant other.

6

Cable Beach

Cable Beach is Broome's pride. It is the beach that is famous for those sunset camel rides that you may have been seeing all over Instagram and it is indeed a very magical thing. The beach extends for miles on either end, seemingly endless and is quite safe for little children to swim in as well. If you are visiting as part of your honeymoon, you can go swimming, snorkelling, watch the sunrise early in the morning – which is worth waking up and making the effort to do. And you can hire a pair of camels for you and your lover and ride off into the sunset like you were starring in your romantic movie.
