Desaru Beach is one of Johor's most famous attractions, and it is what regularly draws in Singaporeans and Malay residents to the region. This is your quintessential white-sand beach complete with a warm sea breeze and sunny weather all year-round. In fact, the sand here is so fine that it has often been compared to soft baby hair! If you get your timings right, you can even visit the beach during dawn or dusk to catch a magnificent view of the oceanic horizon.

There are over 1000 individual crocodiles present in the farm, including an ancient specimen that's over 130 years old! Most of the crocodiles you'll encounter here are saltwater crocodiles – which are in fact the largest species of crocodilian found in the world today! Pasar karat is bustling bazaar that's always alive with the sounds of chanting vendors and curious tourists. You'll find everything here from luxury fabrics to the latest fashion accessories and even live music performances. This is also a fantastic destination to visit if you're looking to pick out some souvenirs and trinkets to help you remember all the adventures you had here in Johor.
If you're interested in finding out more about Johor's rich and storied history, a visit to the Johor Art Gallery should be high up on your list of things to do. Located only a few minutes away from most major Johor hotel and resort establishments – for example the Berjaya Waterfront Hotel – it is an easy visit too! The building itself was used as a Japanese military base during World War II and also served as the official residence for a Johorian chief minister. Nowadays, you can find all manner of fantastic art pieces done by local artists within the building's halls and corridors.
The Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque is a must-visit whether you're here for the sights or to pay your respects. Initially constructed in the late 19th century, construction continued on this building up until the late 90s. At present, it is one of the most prominent and culturally significant structure found in Johor.
